A Low GI Diet Keeps Acne at Bay

It seems that scientists and researchers are finally listening to acne sufferers and researching the link between diet and acne. Recent studies have found that diet does have a bearing on acne and by eating a low GI diet; you will be helping fight those dreaded spots. Combine your new food regime with Aknicare and you are well on your way to blemish free skin! Turn overleaf to see how the Aknicare Range has been further improved!

To Keep the Wrinkles at Bay, Sleep on your Back!

We all know how a lack of sleep affects our skin but the position you sleep in is also said to have an impact on your skin, permanently! If you sleep in the same position every night, with your face touching the pillow you are very likely to end up with wrinkles on your cheeks and chin that will stay with you forever! If you sleep face down you will likely suffer a furrowed brow. To avoid this sleep on your back and apply a good night cream, such as Nutritime® for a positive nourishing action that performs a remarkable and long-lasting softening and moisturizing effect.

Fight Ageing with Red Wine

Resveratrol is an anti-oxidant with some of the most powerful anti-ageing properties. And lucky for us, they are found in grapes! We all know the damaging effects of alcohol to the body and skin, so stick to a small glass of red wine every other day to fight the free radicals in the skin and maintain that youthful complexion. To be extra good, swap the red wine for grape juice.

Treat Your Face to a Massage

Spend a few minutes a night massaging your face with a good cream to stimulate fibroblasts that will in turn release collagen and help to restore our ever decreasing elasticity in the skin. Use Terproline® EGF for a double-pronged attack and topically add in the Epidermal Growth Factors to help repair and rejuvenate your skin, as well as enhancing the skins natural ability. Add More Fish and Turkey to Your Diet

Maintain your healthy skin with the essential omega-3 fats found in oily fish such as salmon to keep your skin supple and fight conditions such as eczema. These omega-3’s will also reduce inflammation.
Turkey is not only low in fat but it also contains a protein called carnosine that helps stop the collagen in the skin turning into the rigid and stiff Collagen Type-I. Collagen Type-I stops the skins from bouncing back and is responsible for creating our laughter lines and crow’s feet!

Increase Your Cell Turnover

As we get older, our skin struggles to shed the skin that has come up to the surface. Meaning dead skin cells remain on the surface of your skin for longer giving you that dehydrated, dull look.  Use Synchrovit® Retinol Face Cream at night to aid the skins cell turnover and exfoliate those dead skin cells away. Synchrovit® contains encapsulated forms of Vitamin A (Retinol) and Vitamin E (Tocopherol), which have potent antioxidant properties to mop-up free radicals generated by stress and 'life'.

And Breathe....

Stress has in incredibly powerful and negative effect on the body and your skin, further exacerbating conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis. Find an activity that helps relax and de-stress you. And at the end of the day have a few moments to yourself and do some deep breathing exercises; count to 10 on the ‘in’ breath and 10 on the ‘out’ breath.

Scientists in the States have claimed that a bacteria already living naturally on our skin could be utilised in the war against acne.
Propionibacterium acnes (p.acnes) are the nasty bacteria living in the skin that are responsible for the activation of acne. Scientists from the UCLA and University of Pittsburgh have found that Propionibacterium acnes phages, which live harmlessly on the skin, do in fact infect and kill the p.acnes bacterium. Tests continue with the hope of ascertaining whether or not their laboratory tests are effective and if they can be used safely for fighting acne on humans.

AKNICARE® product line has been modified and improved by the combined action of Triethyl citrate, Ethyl linoleate and the GT peptide-10.

The Aknicare® range has proved effective for many thousands of people and our research and development scientists have found a way to improve the formula further! GT Peptide-10’s are being introduced into the full Aknicare® range to further improve the absorption of the active ingredients into the cell membranes, to ensure that the products work quicker and more effectively.

We are also pleased to announce that we will soon have a new product in the Aknicare® Range, designed for the treatment of acne on the chest and back. Aknicare® Chest and Back is a medical class III device that comes in the form of a fluid emulsion spray. The studies on the Aknicare® Chest and Back show that after 12 weeks of treatment seborrhoea is reduced by up to 55%!

Aknicare uses Lipifree® technology to greater improve the products efficacy and make the use of products more pleasant for the user. Triethyl citrate is the functional carrier used by the Lipifree® technology in Aknicare.

The THIOSPOT® range has been modified and improved and now uses a multiple approach to inhibit melanin synthesis and suppress pigmentation.

The Thiospot® cream acts on hyper pigmented skin by down modulating biosynthesis with a specific mechanism of action that inhibits, in 3 key steps, the catalytic activity of tyrosinase to achieve maximum results in a non cytotoxic way.

The three active ingredients in the Thiospot® are Acetylglucosamine, Phenyl Ethyl Resorcinol and Ethyl Linoleate.

    • Acetylglucosamine: inhibits tyrosinase glycosylation.
    • Phenyl Ethyl Resorcinol: Tyrosinase recognise this as a preferential substrate compared to tyrosine.
    • Ethyl Linoleate: increases proteasomal degradation of tyrosinase.

These new and improved formulas will be available soon!
